How have you been effected by Benefit cuts, reductions in Health care or Welfare Provision?

Keighley Quakers would like to hear your story and details of your experience as part of a special initiative to draw attention to the distress caused by austerity and increasing inequality in society. A group of Quakers are doing a cycle ride from Cumbria to Downing Street called the Ride for Equality and the Common Good in order to present a declaration, some real examples of hardship caused and to appeal to the Government to:
-end the dismantling of the welfare state and the suffering of those who are the victims of the changes
-renew the welfare state ensuring a safety net for us all
-to commit themselves to act for equality and the common good.

You can contact us at or by Facebook at Keighley Quaker Meeting. Drop a note or your phone number in our post box at the Quaker Meeting House on the corner of Strawberry Street and Skipton Road or call in on Tuesday 24th July between 6.00pm and 7.00pm meet the riders and tell us about your experiences. Information and notepaper will also be available in Keighley Library".
