A new summer term study course, part funded by Quakers in Yorkshire, is starting at the Quaker Meeting House in Leeds Come to any session – no need to book – all welcome Course Background: Early Christian and Quaker records can easily remain hidden or uninterpreted, yet are a valuable resource for today’s peacemakers. We shall look at Movements, Allies, Non-Violent Resistance, Future Hopes…. Richard studied Classics at Oxford and has extensive experience of Quaker peace-making; as an active peacemaker, he went to prison 5 times from 1984-88 and was arrested at the London 2017 DSEI Arms Fair when holding a banner ‘Jesus said Blessed are the Peace Makers and he was not taking the piss’ . Richard is willing to share resources creatively, but does not claim to be an authority, believing that we learn insights and skills together. Richard is part of the Leeds Universities Chaplaincy Team.

The tutor is Richard Levitt and the course will run on Thursday evenings at 7.45. Refreshments are available from 7pm following the weekly Meeting for Worship from 6pm to 7pm. Cost: free or suggested donation £5 per session Programme (2 hour sessions):
