Stories of COP26 and Quaker action.

We’ve been hearing stories from the isles of Scotland to Wales and right to the tip of Cornwall and many places in between

about the incredible actions Friends took for COP26. To give just one example, on the COP26 Coalition Global Day of Action on 6 November over 100,000 took to the streets of Glasgow, another 20,000 took to the streets of London and across the country thousands more marched in over 300 actions that took place across cities, towns and villages in the UK and around the world. We also heard about Quaker involvement in walking and supporting many pilgrimages; in craftivism through Loving Earth panel exhibitions and a 1.5 mile long scarf as part of Stitches for Survival; in holding Meetings for Worship and vigils around the world; in building relationships across faiths and communities; as well as lots of support for other groups in the climate justice movement.

We believe taking time to celebrate the successes we win is a core part of work for change. So we’re creating a full digital report on Quaker involvement in the run up to and at COP26 to document the many successes through your words and pictures. We hope to get this to you just in time for Christmas as our gift to you! In the meantime, you can read about just some of the Quaker action for COP26 on our website here - - >
