Gil Skidmore defined Spiritual Autobiography as ‘telling one’s spiritual journey with the intention of sharing it with others in some way, at some time, to encourage others’. Being in the moment and looking back, there is transformation of what we see as we reach different vantage points. Gil illustrated this with her own journey, in which spiritual autobiography surfaced repeatedly. She started from an academic, historical perspective to which were added layers of feminism and Quakerism. She has led workshops on Spiritual Autobiography for Friends and wrote a book, ‘Turning Inside Out’. She hopes to run a course on Spiritual Blogging in May 2019 at Woodbrooke.
